Privacy Policy

The short version: the app collects nothing.

Rent vs Buy runs entirely on your device. It has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts and no server, and it makes no network requests of any kind.

What the app stores

The values you type into the calculator, such as rent, home price and interest rates, are saved locally on your device so they are still there next time you open the app. They never leave your phone and I have no way to see them. Deleting the app deletes them.

What the app does not do

No personal data is collected
No analytics or crash reporting
No advertising and no advertising identifiers
No tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt
No accounts, no sign in, no email collection
No third party SDKs that send data anywhere

Earlier versions of the app included advertising and an in-app purchase. Both were removed in version 1.1.0, along with the tracking permission prompt that came with them.

Links out of the app

The app links to this website, which in turn links to an optional support page hosted by Ko-fi. Those sites have their own privacy policies and are outside my control. If you choose to send a tip, Ko-fi and its payment processor handle your payment details directly. I never see them.

Children

The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
